Lit by KENNY APAMPA 17th March 2014
When we heard of the accident, Bolade and I started praying for God to perform his miracle and bring you back to life. As the minutes rolled by the Lord quietly assured us that you had come home to rest. Immediately I recollected the night Bolade and I spent with you at your apartment in Abuja sometime in January 2014. You were at the tail end of the fast called by RCCG. You and your loving wife opted for the one month dry fast which was equivalent to the 100 days regular fast. You lived on liquid for one month and grew so lean, I remember you telling us that you jogged every evening. You did it joyfully, digging deep into the word of God everyday and in your characteristic manner giving dangerously even if it was your last kobo. You lived out Isaiah 58. Looking back in hindsight it was a purification and sanctification exercise. We discussed extensively on a lot of spiritual issues, the miracles that were being performed by Pastor Banks (your pastor), your deep involvement in evangelism, your participation in crusades being carried out in the hinterland of Ijebu, initial resistance from some of the villagers, souls that were being won for Christ, the Ijebu medicine man (Baba Ologun)who initially resisted , then gave his life to Christ and gave the church his land to start a Parish in his village, revelation knowledge through the Holy Spirit to mention a few. You promised to get us a daily devotional on the Bible in one year in chronological order. This you did within the shortest possible time. My dear brother I never had the opportunity to say thank you before the Lord called you. THANK YOU for the devotional my brother. When it was time to leave, you led the prayers. What a powerful prayer! At the end I called you Pastor. You laughed and said in Yoruba”l’hun l’hun” My dear brother I will miss you, your rib cracking jokes that brings tears to my eyes, your love for the family both immediate and extended, your brotherly love to all the Apampa wives and your love for humanity. ADIEU MR. TEE! ADIEU UNCLE TEE! ADIEU UNCLE MR. TEE, ADIEU PASTOR TEE! ADIEU, ADIEU, ADIEU MY BROTHER KENNY APAMPA
