There is a season for all things to me it seems. Even a season for wanting to know 'why'. The very essence of seasons is to change and give place to another, similar in many ways to the 'why' question giving place to a deeper request. 'Why' is an exclamation and expression of discomfort. The turnout of events have defied our expectations and reduced the value of our previous concepts and beliefs. To rebuild those beliefs we feel the need to know 'why' to ensure the unexpected event is included in the reconstruction of our belief for future comfort and assurance. The comfort of God with the passage of time ushers in a new era of peace. A new season, a new comfort. The recent shock having been fully absorbed, the urgency for answers to 'why' appear to recede though they never fully disappear. Rather we discover that the peace of the comfort we are now having was exactly what we sought when we initially asked 'why'. Therefore our prayer is, "Lord have your way. When we do not understand and ask 'why' please bring us speedily the comfort we desire hiding behind our question." God of all comfort, have your way. When our hearts are overwhelmed, take us to that rock that is higher than us. That position of peace that we desire and often do not realise is hiding behind our 'why' question. Gbenga APAMPA
